Tying knots: a chinese square knot
Decorative knots are of practical use in our day-to-day lives, and extremely handy for arts and crafts.
The chinese square knot is a type of square knot which is useful for tying a scarf, for example.
How to make this attractive decorative knot
1. Take the working end, bring it towards the left, then back up towards the right as indicated by the arrow.
2. Pull the working end that you have just been working with towards the left so as to make a bight (loop).
3. As demonstrated by the arrow, the part of the rope that has not yet been used passes under three sections of rope and finishes by coming back up inside the bight.
The knot may be adjusted by pulling on each of its four ends, one after the other.
